Project Title
Influence of environmental risk factors and neighbourhood characteristics on presymptomatic type 1 diabetes in children in Bavaria, Germany
Research Interest
My major research interest is how various environmental factors affect human health.
My current PhD project is based on the Fr1da study which initially aimed to screen children for island autoantibodies against pancreatic beta cells. I am studying the effect(s) of environmental factors such as air pollution, temperature, noise pollution, etc. on the incidence of presymptomatic type 1 diabetes, using statistical and spatial methods.
