Professor Peter Nyasulu will present findings from a study investigating mobile phone access, usage patterns, and perceptions of mobile phone–based interventions among adolescents living with HIV in Eswatini. The study aims to inform the design of effective mobile health strategies to enhance adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART).

About Professor Peter Nyasulu
Professor Peter Suwirakwenda Nyasulu is a Professor of Epidemiology and Executive Head of the Department of Global Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He also holds an Honorary Associate Professorship in Epidemiology at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, and is a Member of the American College of Epidemiology.
Prof. Nyasulu is an accomplished clinical and public health researcher with extensive experience in the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and in strengthening medical education to enhance capacity for disease detection, control, and management. He played a pivotal leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic as the Hub of the COVID-19 Research Response Initiative in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Stellenbosch University where he coordinated research efforts, strategic partnerships, and evidence translation for public health action.
With over two decades of experience teaching Epidemiology and Public Health to both undergraduate and postgraduate students across South African institutions, Prof. Nyasulu is deeply committed to academic mentorship and scientific capacity development.
