Open Science Koordination

We are pleased to announce that Moritz Herrmann has joined the IBE as the new Open Science Coordinator within the Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML). Moritz completed his PhD in statistics at the LMU on reliable machine learning with a focus on neutral comparison studies and dimensionality reduction and is now part of Anne-Laure Boulesteix's research group.

The MCML is committed to making machine learning research more accessible and transparent to everyone, and to this end has established a dedicated transfer position. In this role, Moritz will act as a central point of contact for those interested in Open Science and machine learning. In addition to providing advice and support to individual researchers and projects on key issues such as reproducibility and replicability, the aim is also to develop and implement policies and best practices to promote Open Science and foster collaborations in the scientific community to advance research and application of machine learning in an ethical, transparent, and reproducible manner.

As the MCML’s Open Science Coordinator, Moritz will also work closely with the LMU Open Science Center (OSC) and associated Open Science initiatives (OSIM, OSIP, OSIS) to advance Open Science and to guide and assist machine learning researchers at the MCML and beyond in making their research reproducible, replicable, and transparent.
