Project Title:
The role of the food industry in addressing malnutrition and improving population diets
Areas of interest:
Carmen is a nutritionist specializing in Evidence-based Public Health and Public Health Nutrition. She is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research at the LMU Munich with a particular interest in food environment and systems research, planetary health, health equity and integrated knowledge translation.
She pursues her PhD in the FoodSAMSA project (Food environments in Africa: Addressing malnutrition using a syndemics approach) as the lead of work package 2, focusing on the role of the formal food industry in addressing the double burden of malnutrition in South Africa.
