Research

Project Title:

Food Environment Interventions to Address Malnutrition and Sustainability

Areas of interest:
I am a public health researcher with a background in health promotion and behavior. My current interests lie in healthy and sustainable diets, systems science, health equity, LGBTQ+ health, and commercial determinants of health. My master’s thesis examined the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ individuals in Moldova. My current PhD research focuses on improving food environments to promote healthy and sustainable diets. My projects include complex systems mapping of the double burden of malnutrition in South Africa, a Cochrane Review on the effects of school nutrition interventions for human and planetary health, and an assessment of the food policy environment in South Africa.
