Project Title

Behavioural and patient-individual determinants of quality of life, functioning and physical activity in older adults
(MobilE-TRA2)

Research Interest

In my current project, MobilE-TRA 2, my research group investigates the impact of vertigo, dizziness and balance disorders (VDB), as well as lower limb osteoarthritis (OA) on patients in primary care. Both diseases have a similar impact on mobility, social participation and quality of life. Treatments as vestibular rehabilitation therapy for VDB and total hip or knee replacement for OA can effectively improve the symptoms of these conditions. We assess patients over the course of their treatment to determine mechanisms, variables, and specifically the role of behavioral economic concepts for treatment success. As I am employed at the Musculoskeletal University Center Munich (MUM) of the LMU clinic, the majority of my work is centered on the OA branch of the study.

Areas of interest: Musculoskeletal conditions, health care research, health economics, behavioral economics, quantitative research.
